Typography
Another project in Writing Through Media was to take a poem, quote, lyric, etc. and use the text to create a typographic image. I started with this short Emily Dickinson poem:
Death is a Dialogue between
The Spirit and the Dust.
“Dissolve” says Death—The Spirit “Sir
I have another Trust”—
Death doubts it—Argues from the Ground—
The Spirit turns away
Just laying off for evidence
An Overcoat of Clay.
I thought about the first line of the poem for a long time, and started to think of the different ways dialogue is presented. My mind jumped to scripts and screenplays. Here is the finished product.
